Advice: If you need to find a new home for your pet

It is important that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to rehome your pet to allow us to find a space at our Emergency Fostering Unit or with an emergency fosterer.

However, in the event of an emergency, such as an eviction or death of an owner, ring the branch’s emergency telephone line on 07710 294 180. This number is manned between the hours of 9.30am and 6pm Sunday to Friday.

We can help with the rehoming of your pet, although please be advised that if you do not have an urgent need it may be necessary to place you on a waiting list. We often have to prioritise animals in urgent need and only have 32 cat pods at our Emergency Fostering Unit but we will always try and help you with a solution, even if we can’t help immediately.

Please ring us on 020 7 272 2264 for further help and advice. Please note that this is an electronic voicemail service that is regularly manned. We aim to return your call within 48 hours. Thank you for your patience.

We do not generally collect animals from you but let you know when there is a space to take them. However, we will collect in exceptional circumstances.

There are many other organisations who also help to rehome animals in the London area, such as

Please note that we cannot care for your animals while you are in hospital or in prison as we cannot provide temporary boarding. Your local council should provide boarding under these circumstances.

The Cinnamon Trust on 01736 757 900 and the Mayhew Animal Rescue Home on 020 8968 2340 may also be able to help.
